Yoga is a journey. A journey to find balance and center yourself. A lifestyle for finding internal happiness. With Spring underway, what steps are you taking on your yogic journey? Here are a few ideas to guide you on your way.
1. Clear the clutter. External clutter can lead to internal clutter. Take the time to organize your closets. Donate and recycle what you can and focus on keeping only what you need. If you do not love it, give it away.
2. Cleanse. Your body needs a break from the heavy foods of winter. Take a few days to avoid sugar, fried foods, and dairy. Drink plenty of water and try to be consistent in taking your vitamins. Reflect on your eating habits and be cognizant of how food makes you feel.
3. Count. Take inventory of your blessings. Evaluate your personal progress this year. Are you working toward being the person you said you would be? Write down what you have done to meet your goals this year. Do not be harsh in judging yourself, but seek to understand if those goals are sincerely what you need to move toward happiness.
Whatever you do to move towards the life you have decided to make for yourself, strive to move with poise, peace and presence.
